Paranormal State Illustrated

Paranormal State Illustrated

Taking a close look at what you see and hear on a “Real Life. Drama.” TV series.
A newspaper article is shown which states a multiple-murder took place. You might think Jodi’s house, because you can’t read the murders happened near Cando, North Dakota.
THE NAME: WITHHOLDING INFO EXAMPLE 1
While we can see a newspaper article headline stating that six people were murdered, you cannot read the rest of the article which shows the Kreider family used to live in Lancaster County, near Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. The Kreider’s moved from Elizabethtown approximately 15 years before they were murdered while living on a farm outside of Cando, North Dakota.

Jodi turns over some papers to Ryan, which she says the previous owners of her house left there. Ryan acted surprised to see the papers, and asked to read them. If Ryan had read the articles, in the episode, he nor anyone else, ever disclosed that the murders actually took place outside of Cando, North Dakota. And, the members of the Kreider family who were murdered, never lived in Jodi’s house.
It is my opinion that the location of the murders, outside of Cando, North Dakota, was not disclosed so that viewers would think the murders happened in Jodi’s home, which could strengthen the illusion of paranormal activity, for which there is no apparent reason.
As of 07 September 2009, on the aetv.com Web site, under Paranormal State, Season 1 episodes, 09 The Name, states (do you think the use of the word “site” could be misleading?):

Appears at approximately 4 minutes 49 seconds.
You can see the headline, but can’t read where the murders actually happened.

Appears at approximately 4 minutes 41 seconds.
Jodi hands Ryan papers left by the previous owners of her house.
Here are Jodi’s words:
Reenactment for close-up shot of paper, example 1.
(1) Ryan is holding a pen in his right hand in this shot, but had no pen when seen talking with Jodi, (2) the brick wall in the background has a candle on it- this is on the second floor of the house, the same floor as in the scenes where Chip Coffey and later, Lorraine Warren, walk up, and (3) he’s now holding the papers in landscape (longer in the horizontal position)- not like the different papers seen in the portrait (up and down vertically) like when he held them talking with Jodi.

Also, there are some side issues, while they don’t involve the paranormal, they do however, demonstrate a couple examples of re-enacted scenes.
After Ryan takes the papers from Jodi, we see him holding the papers differently, and with a pen.

Jodi hands Ryan papers left by the previous owners of her house.
After that, Ryan is seen holding a different article, which is not the “Six Silenced By Slayer, One Of Classic Murder Stories.” And now there is an Ampad™ notepad behind the papers.
Reenactment for close-up shot of paper, example 2.
(1) Ryan is holding a pen in this shot; but not when talking with client, and (2) there is now an Ampad™ writing pad behind the photocopies; the writing pad did not appear in the scenes when Jodi hands Ryan some papers.

Appears at approximately 4 minutes 57 seconds.
Ryan rifles through some pages of a different article.
Although this isn’t a re-enactment, I want to make note of what I consider to be a suspicious sounding word, when Jamie is talking with the client, Jodi.
Suspicious sounding word, “two?”
When Jamie talks with Jodi, it is my opinion that the audio was likely edited to include the word “two” over what Jamie may have originally said. I did not put this through sophisticated audio software / hardware for visual or audio cues analysis. I did, however, listen to the audio while wearing Sennheiser HD 280 pro headphones. Click the play button and see if you think the word, “two,” replaced something else that Jamie said.
While looking at the papers, Ryan says the following. Notice he knows family members were murdered, but doesn’t say that the murders happened outside of Cando, North Dakota.

This screenshot was made while Jamie is interviewing Jodi, the client.
