DARKNESS FALLS: RYAN THE HYPOCRITE

Ryan apparently doesn’t like people giggling or laughing at him, and feels his team isn’t taking this case seriously. He doesn’t answer a simple question if anything else happened to him in addition to a woman (ghost?) that supposedly laughed at him, nor does he explain his purported childhood paranormal experiences. Apparently out of spite, he withholds information about the prison, and sends some of his team into isolation because of their lack of professionalism.

It seems Ryan is a hypocrite because he made fun of the client’s piano situation in “Haunted Piano.”

Ryan doesn’t like people laughing at him...

Here’s what set Ryan off:

Ryan: The warden’s tower is actually up here. I was invited here with Chad about six months ago. And they do not allow people up here, but for whatever reason they allowed for myself to come up here and do a private investigation. I was here alone. Just so you guys know, too, people have claimed to have heard and seen a woman up here. Now, one of the things I experienced when I was up here was a woman laughing at me very clearly. When there was nobody up here, at all.

Katrina: Did you have anything else happen?

Ryan: Yeah.

[Laughter]

[Unknown]: All right.

Sergey: It’s a mystery.

Ryan: No laughing.

Sergey: Dude, we’re not laughing at you.

Ryan: I didn’t say that. But if you’re gonna start giggling and stuff, then just stay down here.

Ryan: Director’s Log: Stardate 2 something... 2007. Piano, out of tune. Hard to play.

RYAN MAKES FUN OF THE CLIENT’S “HAUNTED PIANO” SITUATION WHILE IN THEIR KITCHEN.
Background: Ryan’s in the “Haunted Piano” clients’ kitchen– making fun of their piano situation while mimicking Captain Kirk’s voice. Ryan likes Captain Kirk, the Star Trek character played by William Shatner.

Nadine, the client, has some very grave concerns about her purportedly haunted piano, such as:
she thinks her deactivated/turned off- cell phone received a demonic “666” message, said she wasn’t able all day to go into the room where they had the piano, and when she looks at the piano she sees blood.

Her husband, John, had weird feelings, experienced anxiety, and while they never had mice in the five years they lived in the house- then mice moved in. John was overwhelmed with “dread.”

And how serious was their haunted piano situation? Ryan called in Lorraine Warren, a Demonologist. Lorraine commented, “Whatever is on the piano, is not a human spirit.” Lorraine’s son-in-law, Tony Spera (he’s married to Lorraine’s daughter, Judy), even performed a “binding” ceremony on the purportedly haunted piano to keep the evil spirit inside. The piano was taken from the client’s home and hacked apart with an axe by Ryan, Eilfie, Katrina, Heather and Sergey. Pieces of the piano were buried.

So, considering what Ryan said, and how he behaved about the piano while standing in the client’s kitchen, do you think he was respectful and understanding as to the intensity of their situation? According to the way the “Haunted Piano” episode played out, didn’t it seem Nadine and John experienced something frightful and perhaps dangerous to them- and Ryan made fun of it?

Anyway, a little later (back in “Darkness Falls”) after Ryan said he doesn’t think his PRS team understands at times what’s going on, Chad asks Ryan:

After Ryan tells his fellow PRS members they can stay downstairs, he has a talk with Sergey.

Ryan made fun of a client’s situation while in their home and behind their back, so why can’t he take a little giggling/laughing by his team after he fails to answer a question put to him?

If the PRS motto is, “To trust, honor, and always seek the truth,” why couldn’t Ryan honor the trust of his team by giving them the answers; the truth, about his supposed childhood paranormal experience(s) when asked a simple question?

Aside from all the false, misleading, inaccurate and fabricated scenarios Ryan and his Paranormal Research Society (PRS) members are connected to with Paranormal State, do you think Ryan Buell exhibits the qualities of a mature, inspiring, and qualified Director of a “professional” organization?

Ryan: You got to appreciate the intensity of what we’re dealing with. And I feel like you guys haven’t-- after all these years, maybe you guys just don’t understand what it is we’re dealing with sometimes. When I see everyone laughing and giggling and being loud and stupid, it annoys the [bleep] out of me. Would you guys do this if a client was about to show you a place that’s the most dangerous, or the most frightening?

See if you think Ryan is a hypocrite, because he’s in a client’s kitchen (“Haunted Piano” episode), making fun of their situation. Screen capture is from aetv.com.

Sorry I can’t provide a direct link to this particular video, but that’s the way the A&E Website works (or doesn’t).

When you hover your cursor over the video, a blurb states: “Here are some behind the scenes fun with the cast of Paranormal State. Catch some of the jokes and antics of the PRS crew. Did they really climb a tree?

Chad: Do you think if you articulated better in detail to them, what happened, that it would have an effect on them where they would take it more seriously?

Ryan: I don’t feel like it’s my job to sit here and spell things out when it comes to me. And I don’t feel comfortable doing that.

Ryan goes on to say in his “Director’s Log” sounding-voice:

Ryan: Because of my team’s lack of professionalism at a time like this, I’ve decided not to share this prison’s darkest secret. Instead, I’m going to send the other half of my team into solitude. Let’s see if they’re still laughing afterwards.

So, Ryan also fails to tell his own team, what (if anything “paranormal” really ever) happened to him as a child. And apparently based on his team’s “lack of professionalism,” he decides to withhold information? And on top of that, it appears that out of spite, he sends some of his team off to be alone.

What “Director” of an organization 1) won’t explain their own, personal situation which supposedly is the reason for the group’s formation in the first place, 2) spends years doing a myriad of investigations with his team and doesn’t like it if someone giggles at his personal situation- but makes fun of a client’s situation while in their home, 3) withholds supposedly relevant information about a case because he doesn’t think his team members are acting professionally, and 4) does something that could be construed as being spiteful to some team members because they laughed because the “Director” (Ryan) didn’t answer one of their questions?
