“Northfield, PA” is a fictitious name for Clearfield, Pennsylvania. Due to various ways to see that the correct location was Clearfield, I don’t understand why Paranormal State attempted to cover up the real name.

Northfield is a fictitious location. This episode took place in Clearfield, PA.

Below, I’ve included four examples with screenshots to help show that this episode took place in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. In two instances, “Clearfield” can be seen if you look closely. The other two examples require only simple Internet searches in order to return results that show this episode was in Clearfield and not Northfield, PA.

EXAMPLE #1 TO FIND IT HAPPENED IN CLEARFIELD, PA
The client’s address is clearly visible in the episode. Using an address Internet search engine, I typed in the client’s name, Matt Franson, and used Clearfield, Pennsylvania as the city and state, because I saw Clearfield in a couple places in the episode. The search returned his address and road name, verifying he lived in Clearfield, PA. Matt hasn’t taken steps to remove this common and publicly available Internet address listing, so it doesn’t seem he’s concerned about people knowing where he lives. And, just to make it clear, it is not my intent to publish anyone’s private address and phone number. I am merely pointing out how to verify public information as it relates to the show.

EXAMPLE #2 TO FIND IT HAPPENED IN CLEARFIELD, PA
Utilizing Google as the Internet search engine, I typed in “Chidboy Funeral Home” and the first result returned showed two Chidboy Funeral Home locations- one of which is in Clearfield, PA. If the show wanted to keep Clearfield a secret, then why do we see the “Chidboy Funeral Home” sign?

EXAMPLE #3 TO FIND IT HAPPENED IN CLEARFIELD, PA
Matt is going to re-bury the urn containing the unknown ashes. Here’s the map he used to describe where he’s going to re-bury the urn when he’s talking with Ryan. Clearfield, Pennsylvania, is clearly written on the map.

EXAMPLE #4 TO FIND IT HAPPENED IN CLEARFIELD, PA
Towards the very end of the episode, during Ryan’s follow-up phone call a month after the PRS investigation, Matt and Chandra are seen walking by a Clearfield sign. If Clearfield was to be kept a secret, someone in post-production editing should have noticed this and left the scene out or obscured the name.

The times listed for the examples are approximate, and are how far from the beginning of the episode in which they appear. The times do not include commercials.

Matt’s address is clearly seen.
4 min 53 sec from the beginning of the episode.

“The Cemetery” episode took place in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. However, an on-screen caption depicts the true location as “Northfield, PA.” As it relates to this episode, “Northfield, PA” is a fictitious place.

But why would Paranormal State show a fictitious name for the location, because the real location, Clearfield is seen elsewhere in the episode. I will show you two places where Clearfield appears, as well as two more ways of using visible information to quickly check the actual location of this episode on the Internet.

A Google search will show city/state for Chidboy.
14 min 30 sec from the beginning of the episode.

EXAMPLE #3
The correct location, Clearfield, Pennsylvania, is written on the cemetery map.
17 min 51 sec from the beginning of the episode.

EXAMPLE #4
Matt and Chandra walk by a Clearfield sign.
21 min 11 sec from the beginning of the episode.
